Construction Types
Stringer vs. Block Pallets
Both types are available. The right choice depends on your equipment, load requirements, and racking system.
Quality Grading
Pallet Grades
UWP grades every pallet against industry-standard criteria. Choose the grade that matches your operational requirements and budget.
Best Quality
Premium Grade A (#1)
Wide (6") lead boards on both top and bottom decks. No block repairs on stringers. Minor cosmetic chip-back acceptable (up to 1"×8"). Ideal for automated handling systems and food-grade applications.
Standard
Standard Grade A
Wide lead boards on top deck only. Split stringers permitted if reinforced with corrugated metal repair plates or heavy-duty staples. Suitable for most general-purpose warehouse and distribution use.
Economy
Grade B (#2)
Maximum one repair block per forklift cavity. Block must be full-arm (min. 18" long) spanning the notch on the original stringer. Most economical option for non-automated, low-cycle applications.
Export Compliance
ISPM-15 Heat Treated Pallets
Shipping internationally? ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) certification is a legal requirement for wood packaging crossing most international borders. UWP supplies ISPM-15 certified heat treated pallets — eliminating invasive pests and plant diseases and preventing costly customs delays at international ports of entry.
Heat treated pallets are stamped with the official IPPC mark, providing verifiable compliance documentation for your shipments.
